Parmi celles-ci deux machines d&rsquo;aspect proche, la <a href=\"http:\/\/le-rayon-des-calculatrices.fr\/WordPress3\/?p=763\"><em>Monroe 98<\/em><\/a> de base et la <em>99<\/em>, un mod\u00e8le scientifique.<\/p>\n<p>Produite autour\u00a0de 1976, la <em>Monroe 99<\/em> est dot\u00e9e de l&rsquo;afficheur fluorescent typique de cette \u00e9poque, de couleur verte.<\/p>\n<p>La totalit\u00e9 des digits disponibles s&rsquo;activent d\u00e8s qu&rsquo;on enfonce la moindre touche de fonction. Ce sont donc huit chiffres, plus les deux d\u00e9di\u00e9s \u00e0 l&rsquo;exposant qui surgissent \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9cran, m\u00eame si la valeur entr\u00e9e n&rsquo;en n\u00e9cessiterait qu&rsquo;un seul.<\/p>\n<p>A titre d&rsquo;exemple, si je souhaite multiplier <em>2.3<\/em> par <em>6.8<\/em>, d\u00e8s l&rsquo;appui sur la touche \u00ab\u00a0<em>x<\/em>\u00a0\u00bb la Monroe affichera <em>2.3000000 00<\/em>. Et le r\u00e9sultat final sera <em>15.640000 00<\/em>. Ce mode d&rsquo;affichage scientifique obstin\u00e9 est un archa\u00efsme qu&rsquo;on retrouve sur d&rsquo;autres machines de cette \u00e9poque et qui n&rsquo;avantage gu\u00e8re la lisibilit\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Sur le plan du calcul, on note le minimum vital en fonctions scientifiques. La pr\u00e9cision est faible. C&rsquo;est du <em>8<\/em> chiffres secs, sans chiffres de garde.<\/p>\n<p>La <em>Monroe<\/em> \u00e9tait construite &#8211; au Japon &#8211; par l&rsquo;industriel am\u00e9ricain <em>Litton<\/em>. Le logo <em>Litton<\/em> pr\u00e9c\u00e8de d&rsquo;ailleurs celui de <em>Monroe<\/em> en fa\u00e7ade. L&rsquo;expression de cette dualit\u00e9 est r\u00e9affirm\u00e9e\u00a0sur la plaque d&rsquo;identification au dos.<\/p>\n<p>Machine \u00e0 l&rsquo;esth\u00e9tique et aux coloris beiges typiques de <em>Monroe<\/em>, la belle <em>99<\/em> est une raret\u00e9<em>.
